Tournament Basics
Let’s start with the most basic points. Just like normal blackjack games, the player is playing against the dealer. How often you beat the dealer or how often you leave the table, will determine on how much you win or lose.
This is the core of the game in basic tournaments. Players not only bring their own bankroll into the tournament but also buy in with an entry fee. That way, each player has the same chip count at the beginning of the tournament.
The duration of the tournament may last as long as the predetermined time period but may also depend on the number of hands decided on. At the end of a round, the players with the most chips from each table move up to the next round and continue playing. By the end of the blackjack tournament, the top players will all end up at one final table.
The winner, it goes without saying, is the player with the most chips at the end of the last round. This one will claim the main prize. The main prize could be, depending on the casino, a percentage of the entry fees, or a predetermined cash prize amount.
